Titan to temporarily train in Quebec

BATHURST – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan announced today that they will be temporarily training in Carleton-sur-mer, Quebec. The team will continue to follow the QMJHL’s COVID-19 protocols approved by Quebec Public health, including preventive testing of players and staff within the team environment.

“High-level athletes cannot stop training for an extended period of time and be able to perform at the same level,” said Titan General Manager, Sylvain Couturier. “That is why we feel it is important to allow our student-athletes to continue training in preparation for an eventual return to play.”

Other Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams have permission to train under certain restrictions in Nova Scotia and Quebec. There is no restriction in New Brunswick’s mandatory order for teams to train outside the province.

“We believe this new temporary training location is what’s best for the health, morale and psychological well-being of our players,” said Couturier. “We look forward to returning to the K.C. Irving Regional Centre and playing in front of our fans as soon as we are able.”
