Titan snaps losing skid but splits back-to-back with Sea Dogs

SAINT JOHN, N.B. – Thursday night the Acadie-Bathurst Titan visited the Saint John Sea Dogs for the first of back-to-back games between the two teams at Harbour Station. Coming into this game on a lengthy losing skid the Titan saw an opportunity to finally get in the win column and they took advantage of it.

Liam Leonard opened the scoring 11:44 into the game beating Zachary Bouthillier five-hole for his ninth of the season. Evan MacKinnon and Mathieu Desgagnes picked up the assists. In the second period Cole Rafuse doubled the Titan lead with his 15th assisted by Jesse Sutton and Anderson MacDonald at 19:23. Leonard would pickup an empty net tally at 18:37 for his second of the night making it 3-0. A late goal from Jeremie Jacob got Saint John on the board but the Titan would go on to win 3-1 and snap the losing streak.

The following night the Sea Dogs would exact their revenge. Mikhail Denisov made 32 saves while Josh Lawrence and Filip Prykril lead the way offensively with three points apiece as Saint John skated to a 5-1 victory over the Titan to split the back-to-back. Prykril, Charlie Desroches and Jeremie Poirier tallied singles while Lawrence netted a pair in the game.
