Titan season ends with game three loss

BATHURST, N.B. – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan’s 2022 playoff run has come to an end. Thursday night in front of a home crowd at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre, the Titan fell 3-1 to the Charlottetown Islanders who swept the second round series 3-0 over Bathurst.

After a scoreless first period Brett Budgell put the first goal on the board for the Islanders at 1:36 in the second period and they held onto the lead into the final frame. Patrick Guay netted their second goal 49 seconds into the third period for the 2-0 lead over the home team.

At the 8:20 mark Cole Huckins – with an assist from Marc-Andre Gaudet and Bennett MacArthur- scored on the powerplay to bring the Titan back to within one goal of Charlottetown. Budgell then went on to score the Islanders third and final goal to win the game 3-1 on an empty net at 19:56.

Titan netminder Jan Bednar was named the second star of the game stopping 32 of 35 shots on goal.
