Titan offence shines again in win over Eagles

SYDNEY, N.S. – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan picked up a second win in a row over the Cape Breton Eagles in their third consecutive game against the Nova Scotia-based team this afternoon. The visiting Titan finished the night with an 11-2 victory over the Eagles at Centre 200 in Sydney.

The Titan scored two goals in the first period, five goals in the second and four goals in the final frame. Ivan Ivan scored the Eagles first goal in the first period while Dawson Stairs scored the second goal in the second period Sunday.

15 Titan players hit the scoresheet in the game including MacArthur who notched his second hat-trick in as many games. The team also got multi-point performances from Jacob Melanson, Joseph Henneberry, Cole Larkin, Hendrix Lapierre, Jaxon Bellamy, Ben Allison, Marc-Andre Gaudet, and Riley Kidney.

Acadie-Bathurst outshot the Eagles 52-28 and finished the night one-for-six on the powerplay, while Cape Breton scored twice in six opportunities with the man advantage.

With the nine goals Friday night and 11 this afternoon, the Titan have scored a total of 100 goals since the puck dropped on the 2021-22 season which means at least 100 trees will be planted in the Chaleur region as part of the One Goal, One Tree campaign presented by Trevali.

The Titan will visit the Charlottetown Islanders on Friday at the Eastlink Centre before returning home the following night to host the Val-d’Or Foreurs at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.
