Titan to host Hockey Fights Cancer game in support of Roses Radiothon

BATHURST, N.B. – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan are proud to announce their participation in a great local fundraising initiative which will give back to the Chaleur region. The team will be donating $1 from every ticket sold for tomorrow night’s game to the Roses Radiothon, which raises money to help in the fight against cancer. They will also donate $5 from every Flex-5 Pack sold throughout the month of November.

The Titan and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League are active participants in the Hockey Fights Cancer initiative, in partnership with the Montreal Canadiens.

“Giving back to the community is one of Titan’s primary missions. Representing the #HockeyFightCancer movement, it was important to us that the funds raised be invested in the Acadie-Bathurst region. The Radiothon des Roses fundraiser was clearly the ideal choice,” said JD Boudreau, Acadie-Bathurst Titan Director of Marketing. “It allows people with cancer to have access to quality health care close to their home and family in our region by helping to develop medical products and services!”

The support from the local major junior team is welcome news for long-time Chaleur region Roses Radiothon volunteer Irène Thériault.

“When I heard that the Titan was going to do something for the Roses Radiothon, I must admit that I was really, happy and touched by their gesture of wanting to support the people of our community who are facing cancer,” said Thériault, who is also a fan of the team. “By showing their support for the Roses Radiothon, the Titan is associating itself with the importance of health care in our community first.”

We are hoping our fans will fill the rink in our match-up against the Halifax Mooseheads tomorrow night, or purchase our aforementioned Flex-5 Pack as we raise money for this great local fundraiser.
