Titan acquire Capitals prospect Hendrix Lapierre

BATHURST – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan have acquired Washington Capitals prospect Hendrix Lapierre and a 2023 seventh-round pick from the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in exchange for forwards Julien Bourget and Alexis Dube, first round picks in 2022 and 2023, as well as a 2022 third-round pick and 2023 fourth-round pick.

Lapierre, 19, was selected 22nd overall by the Capitals in the 2020 NHL Draft and is a former first overall selection in the QMJHL Draft. The Gatineau, Quebec product registered eight goals and 23 assists for 31 points in 21 during the shortened 2020-21 season with Chicoutimi. His 1.476 points-per-game average put him on pace for 100 points in a 68 game season.

In the 2021 President Cup playoffs, Lapierre finished with 12 points in nine games as the Sagueneens advanced to the second round before falling to the Val-d’Or Foreurs.

Bourget was drafted in the eighth round, 127th overall by the Titan in the 2019 QMJHL Draft. In his first season in the league, the 17-year-old had three points in 24 games. Dube, a former fifth-round pick of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, totalled 11 points in 92 career games in Bathurst along with three points in nine playoff games.
