After a few weeks of waiting, the Acadie-Bathurst Titan finally enjoyed its first road win this season. Mario Durocher’s group collected both points on Wednesday with a 5-3 victory over the Drakkar in Baie-Comeau. They were then defeated 4-2 by the Saguenéens in Chicoutimi on Friday and then lost on Sunday 8-5 against the Quebec Remparts at Centre Videotron.
The Titan now has a record of 4 wins, 20 losses and 6 losses in extra time (14 points in 30 games) good for the 18th in the league. They’ll play their next game on Wednesday (7 pm) with a visit from the Cape Breton Eagles at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.
Here are your three stars from the last week:
First star – Shawn Element
Who will succeed in slowing this guy down? The Titan captain has collected four goals in his last three games, also pocketing an assist. Since the beginning of the season, the fan favorite has given heart and soul to each presence in both offensive and defensive territory. He is the first star of the last week.
Second star – Cole Huckins
Every junior team dreams of having a young six-foot-four centerman. Well, here in Bathurst we have it. The latter has notably picked things up offensively during the last week with two goals and three assists. He is also on an excellent stretch of eight points in his last six games. Huckins gets the second star.
Third star – Anderson MacDonald
The veteran sniper has been full speed ahead for the past few games. The 19-year-old scored twice during this trip, to bring his total to 14 goals, good for second in team scoring (Element 17). At this rate, he could easily reach the 30-goal mark by the end of the season for the first time in his career. He is your third star.
Honorable mention to defenceman Benjamin Roode who scored his first career goal in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Wednesday in Baie-Comeau.
