Student of the Year Award: Mathieu Desgagnes

The 2019-2020 Student of the Year Award goes to forward, Mathieu Desgagnes. Taking online Business courses from Acadia University, the 19-year-old maintained a 3.67 GPA while balancing a demanding Quebec Major Junior Hockey League schedule. The Verdun, Quebec product is described as hard-working, organized, and focused on academic achievement.

“He meets the challenge of online learning with perseverance and commitment. He takes optimal advantage of his class time so that he can complete his work diligently. Mathieu is a goal-oriented achiever,” said Titan Academic Advisor Marie Meagher.

Desgagnes also had a successful season on the ice finishing with 51 points in 61 games while posting 16 multi-point games. The veteran also lead the league in shorthanded goals with six.

Throughout this week we will be announcing our 2019-2020 award winners. Winners will be announced at and on our social media channels. Tomorrow we will announce the Fan Favourite and the Hardest Working Player Award.
