Oceanic top Titan for second time this season

BATHURST – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan and the Rimouski Oceanic did battle for the second times this season on Friday at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre. After winning the first meeting 3-0 back on November 16th, the Oceanic would take this one by a score of 5-1.

Alexis Lafreniere and Cedric Pare each scored late in the opening 20 minutes to give the visitors a 2-0 edge through one period. Anthony Gagnon pushed the score to 3-0 just 2:18 into the second period but Mathieu Desgagnes would get the Titan on the board with a powerplay marker at 11:29. Assists went to Yan-Cedric Gaudreault and Felix-Antoine Drolet. Pare would later score his second of the night to make it 4-1 after 40 minutes of play. At 15:51 of the third period Olivier Garneau capped off the 5-1 Oceanic victory with his 33rd of the year.
