BATHURST – As has been the story throughout the 2018-19 season, the Acadie-Bathurst Titan once again suffered a tough loss at the hands of a much more powerful opponent. Friday night that opponent was the league-leading Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. The Huskies scored early and often en route to a blowout victory.
In the first period the teams import players carried the offence as Patrik Hrehorcak and Jakub Lauko each found the back of the net to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead through 20 minutes of action. A pair of powerplay goals from Alex Beaucage in the second period would push their advantage to 4-0 before Marc-Andre LeCouffe got Bathurst on the board with his 11th of the season. Liam Leonard and Jesse Sutton picked up the assists on the powerplay tally at 7:23. Hrehorcak would add his second of the night later in the frame to give the Huskies a 5-1 edge after two periods.
Raphael Harvey-Pinard and Joel Teasdale each scored in the first half of the final period as they both inched closer to the 30-goal plateau. Hrehorcak capped off the scoring at 16:14 completing his hat trick on a powerplay and making it an 8-1 final. Despite the loss rookie netminder Tyriq Outen made 49 saves for the Titan.
