Five members of hockey staff renewed for 2021-22 season

BATHURST – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan have renewed the contracts of five members of the hockey operations department, General Manager Sylvain Couturier announced today. Head coach Mario Durocher, assistant coaches Greg Leland and Dennis Martindale, along with goaltenders coach Adrien Lemay and equipment manager George White will all return for another season.

“We are very pleased to have our entire coaching staff and equipment manager returning for another year,” said Couturier. “Three years after winning the Memorial Cup, we finished fourth overall last season and had five players on the NHL Central Scouting list. Credit to Mario and his staff for the work they’ve done in developing this group into a competitive team in a short period of time.”

Durocher returns for a fourth season behind the bench after leading the Titan to a second place finish in the Maritimes division and advancing to the second round of the 2021 President Cup Playoffs. The native of Sherbrooke, Quebec has coached a total of 1094 regular season games in the QMJHL with a record of 537-531-26.

Hired by the Titan last summer after four years as the head coach and general manager of the Campbellton Tigers, Leland will be coaching in his 10th season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Martindale and Lemay will be in their second and third season with the Titan respectively while equipment manager George White returns for a fourth campaign.
