SAINT JOHN, N.B. – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan extended their win streak to four games thanks to a 4-3 shootout win over the Sea Dogs Saturday night in Saint John. The Titan beat Saint John 5-2 the previous night at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre in Bathurst.
Dylan Andrews threw the first points on the board for the visitors at 4:55 in the first period to take the 1-0 lead, but Carter McCluskey tied the game at 8:08 to finish the period with a 1-1 score.
Riley Kidney helped the Titan regain the lead at 5:38 in the second period with a powerplay goal. The Titan held the 2-1 lead throughout the second period. Sea Dogs William Dufour tied the game for Saint John on the man advantage at 4:39 in the final frame to bring the game 2-2. Sapelnikov scored the game tying goal for the Sea Dogs at 17:13 to close the period 3-3. After a scoreless overtime, Ben Allison netted the shootout winner to win the game 4-3. The Titan scored on two of their six power play chances Saturday night and outshot Saint John 37-33. Saint John scored on one of two powerplay chances.
The Titan will head to Sydney, Nova Scotia to take on the Cape Breton Eagles Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Centre 200.
