In the coming days 10 members of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan roster will leave to participate in NHL camps in the coming weeks with many of them also taking part in rookie tournaments with their respective teams. Forwards Riley Kidney (Montreal), Cole Huckins (Calgary), Jacob Melanson (Seattle), Hendrix Lapierre (Washington), Bennett MacArthur (Arizona), Ben Allison (Ottawa), defencemen Zach Biggar (New Jersey), Jaxon Bellamy (Arizona), Cole Larkin (St. Louis), and goaltender Jan Bednar (Detroit) will be away from the team for the next few weeks.
Bennett MacArthur, Jaxon Bellamy, and Ben Allison have already departed for their respective camps while Riley Kidney, Cole Larkin, and Zach Biggar leave on Sunday. Bellamy and MacArthur, who are both attending the Arizona Coyotes rookie camp, will also take part in the Arizona Rookie Faceoff Tournament from September 17-20 while Biggar will join the New Jersey Devils for the Prospects Challenge in Buffalo, New York from September 17-19.
Cole Larkin and Jan Bednar, who will report to the Detroit Red Wings rookie camp next Wednesday, are expected to take part in the Traverse City prospects tournament where they’ll play games against prospects from the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Dallas Stars, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The tournament runs from September 16-20.
Cole Huckins will also be leaving Wednesday as he heads out west to join the Calgary Flames for rookie camp. Hendrix Lapierre and Jacob Melanson will be the last to depart for NHL camps with both players expected to fly out at the end of next week.
The Titan will return to preseason action tomorrow night when they visit the Charlottetown Islanders at 7pm before hosting the Islanders on Sunday at 3pm at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.
