The Acadie-Bathurst Titan are pleased to announce that they have completed a trade with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.
Going to the Armada is the Titan’s 5th round draft choice in the 2016 QMJHL Draft.
In return, the Titan acquire the services of defenseman Guillaume Vien (1996-07-20). Vien was originally selected by Blainville-Boisbriand in the 12th round of the 2013 QMJHL Draft. In 14 games this season with the Armada, he has registered three assists along with 12 penalty minutes.
In other news, the Titan have confirmed that goaltender Daniel Vautour (1996-03-20) will be staying with the team for the remainder of the season. In five appearances for the Titan this season, Daniel has a 2-2 record with a 2.13 goals against average and a .921 save percentage. He was invited as an undrafted free agent to both the 2013 and 2014 training camps.
Prior to his call-up, Daniel played in 12 games for the Dieppe Commandos of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League sporting a 10-2 record with a 3.07 goals against average and an even .900 save percentage. He was also infamously involved in the 19-round shootout against the County Aces, stopping all 19 shooters to secure the win for the Commandos in what would be his second-to-final appearance for the team.
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan’s next home game is on Friday, January 9th at 7:30pm against Cape Breton, in the first of back-to-back home games against the Screaming Eagles.
