Titan suffer another lopsided loss to Mooseheads

HALIFAX, N.S. – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan found themselves up against a strong opponent Wednesday night as they visited the Halifax Mooseheads. It was the ninth meeting between the two this season with Halifax having won the previous eight.

It was a slow start offensively with just one goal being scored in the first period. That goal came with just 10 seconds left in the period as Raphael Lavoie gave Halifax a 1-0 lead after one. Arnaud Durandeau and Samuel Asselin each found the back of the net in the opening three minutes of the second period to push the Mooseheads advantage to 3-0. Three more goals went on the board in the final 20 minutes for the Mooseheads with Durandeau getting his second of the night while Benoit-Olivier Groulx and Joel Bishop added singles.

Marc-Andre LeCouffe got the Titan on the board with a powerplay goal at 16:31 to break Alexis Gravel’s shutout bid. Jesse Sutton and Oliver Turan picked up the assists on the visitors lone tally of the night. Despite falling 6-1 to the Mooseheads, Titan goaltender Mark Grametbauer turned aside 45 of 51 shots he faced.
