Titan send draft pick to Cape Breton for Smallwood

BATHURST – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan have added more depth to their blueline before the conclusion of the 2018-19 QMJHL trading period. General Manager Sylvain Couturier has announced that the team has acquired 19-year-old Ian Smallwood from the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles for a 2020 seventh round draft pick.

Currently in his second full season in the QMJHL, Smallwood was originally a ninth round pick of the Saint John Sea Dogs in 2015. Prior to the 2017-18 season the Quebec Remparts claimed the six-foot-one, 186-pound defenceman off waivers from Saint John and would eventually trade him to Cape Breton for a ninth round draft pick. The product of St. John’s, Newfoundland has totalled 24 points in 83 games over the past four seasons and currentl has 12 points in 27 games this season with the Screaming Eagles.
