Titan score three unanswered goals to top Wildcats
MONCTON, NB – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan visited the Moncton Wildcats Saturday night for their sixth meeting of the season. Bathurst was 4-0-1-0 against the Wildcats going into this one and they would improve to 5-0-1-0 beating the home squad 3-1 thanks to three unanswered goals.
Wildcats forward Anderson MacDonald opened the scoring 4:49 into the game with a powerplay goal. It remained a 1-0 game until later in the opening period when Noah Dobson sniped a powerplay goal of his own to tie it at 15:40. Antoine Morand and Mitchell Balmas notched the assists.
Morand would give the Titan a 2-1 lead just 2:20 into the second period with his 16th tally of the season. Samuel L’Italien and Olivier Galipeau picked up the helpers. In the dying seconds of the third period, L’Italien sealed the deal with an empty net goal with just two seconds on the clock. His 12th was unassisted at 19:58. Joseph Murdaca was solid in goal stopping 28 shots while Mark Grametbauer also made 28 saves for the home side in a losing effort.
