Titan begin road trip with 4-1 win over Chicoutimi

CHICOUTIMI, Que. – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan began a three-game road trip through the province of Quebec on Thursday night in Chicoutimi as they visited the Sagueneens. Titan blueliner Olivier Galipeau made his return to Chicoutimi for the first time since being dealt to the Chaleur region and received a video tribute prior to puck drop.

Rookie forward Logan Chisholm scored the games first goal and the only one in the opening period of play just 6:32 into the contest. Adam Holwell and Justin Ducharme notched helpers on Chisholm’s fourth of the season. The Titan kicked things up a notch in the second period scoring three times in the final six minutes of the frame.

First, Samuel L’Italien scored the eventual game winning goal at 14:43 on the penalty kill to give the Titan a 2-0 lead. Ducharme picked up the lone assist. Only 1:06 later L’Italien once again potted a shorthanded tally pushing the score to 3-0. German Rubtsov added the only helper. Mitchell Balmas and Olivier Galipeau got in on the scoresheet with an assist on the goal.

Liam Stevens scored the lone Sagueneens goal just before the eight minute mark of the third period but the Titan would skate away with a 4-1 victory. Evan Fitzpatrick stopped 20 of 21 shots he faced while Zachary Bouthillier made 34 saves for the losing side.
