Titan acquires Holwell and Malatesta from Wildcats

The Acadie-Bathurst Titan announced today the completion of a trade with the Moncton Wildcats.

Going to the Wildcats in this trade is the affiliate player FRANCIS THIBEAULT (1998-07-01) and the following draft picks: a third-round pick in the 2017 QMJHL Draft, originally belonging to the Titan; a second-round pick in the 2018 QMJHL Draft, originally belonging to the Titan; an eighth-round pick in the 2018 QMJHL Draft, originally belonging to Moncton; a first-round pick in the 2019 QMJHL Draft, originally belonging to the Titan; and a second-round pick in the 2019 QMJHL Draft, originally belonging to the Titan.

In return, the Titan receive defencemen ADAM HOLWELL (1997-03-08) and ZACHARY MALATESTA (1996-07-31) from the Wildcats as well as Moncton’s seventh-round pick in the 2017 QMJHL Draft.

Holwell, a third-round pick of the Wildcats in the 2013 QMJHL Draft is a veteran of 230 regular season QMJHL games – all with Moncton – and has scored 14 goals to go with 56 assists.

Malatesta, an American-born eleventh-round pick of the Wildcats in the 2013 QMJHL Draft is a veteran of 158 regular season QMJHL games – all with Moncton – and has scored 17 goals to go with 47 assists. He was invited to the New York Rangers training camp prior to this season.
