Titan acquire Turan and draft pick for Ivan

BATHURST – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan have completed a trade with the Drummondville Voltigeurs, General Manager Sylvain Couturier announced on Sunday. Defenceman Michal Ivan has been traded to the Voltigeurs for defenceman Oliver Turan and a third round pick in 2020.

A 19-year-old from Slovakia, Ivan is in his second season with the Titan after the team selected him 38th overall in the 2017 CHL Import Draft. The six-foot-one, 181-pound blueliner has 12 points in 29 games so far this season. He was a member of the 2018 Memorial Cup championship team and represented Slovakia at the 2018 and 2019 World Junior Hockey Championships.

Turan is a 17-year-old from Innsbruck, Austria and is in first season in the QMJHL. He was the 40th overall selection in the 2018 CHL Import Draft by the Voltigeurs and has six points in 35 games this season. Oliver also has experience on the international stage having competed in the Hlinka Gretzky tournament with Team Slovakia the past two years.
