DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. – The second game of a six-game road trip went down Friday night between the Acadie-Bathurst Titan and the Drummondville Voltigeurs at the Centre Marcel Dionne. A trio of powerplay goals proved to be the difference as the Titan got out with a 5-3 victory after going down a goal in the opening five minutes of the game.
Bastian Eckl intercepted a pass at the Voltigeurs blueline and went streaking in all alone on Joseph Murdaca slidding in the first goal of the night. The assisted marker made it 1-0 at 5:50. The Titan got their first powerplay opportunity of the game and capitalized. The red hot line of Jordan Maher, Antoine Morand, and German Rubstov connected for Maher’s fourth of the season to tie the game 1-1.
In the second period, the trio struck again with another powerplay tally. Maher got the goal again while Morand and Rubtsov notched assists. Four minutes later Rubtsov took his turn scoring on a man advantage to give the Titan a two-goal edge. Morand and Jeffrey Viel picked up the helpers. Nicolas Beaudin would add one with 11 seconds to go in the second period to make it 3-2 after one.
Ethan Crossman would score twice in the third and Robert Lynch would add a single for the home side to account for the 5-3 final score. Joseph Murdaca improved to 2-0 in his QMJHL career with a 27 save performance and Olivier Rodrigue stopped 29 shots for the Voltigeurs.

The road trip continues tomorrow night, Saturday, as the Titan visit the Centre d’excellence Sports Rousseau to tangle with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada at 5pm.
