Islanders score two unanswered to get past Titan

CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI. – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan finished off the month of November on the road as they travalled across the Confederation Bridge to tangle with the Charlottetown Islanders Friday night. In the previous contest between these two teams, the Islanders held off a late charge by the Titan to win 2-1 at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre back on November 23.

This time around the Titan got in front early. Liam Murphy, in his first game back from injury, wripped a shot past Dakota Lund-Cornish to open the scoring at 8:03 of the first period. Cole Rafuse and Michal Ivan picked up the assists on Murphy’s seventh tally of the campaign.

In the third period the Islanders finally found a way to beat Mark Grametbauer. Derek Gentile evened the score just 58 seconds into the final frame with assists to Keith Getson and Daniel Hardie. The game-winning goal came off the stick of Cole Edwards at 12:08 to give the Islanders another 2-1 win over Bathurst.  With 44 saves in the loss, Mark Grametbauer was named first star of the game.
