Islanders exact revenge on Titan with 4-1 win

BATHURST – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan returned to the K.C. Irving Regional Centre ice Friday night as they played host to the Charlottetown Islanders. Last time these two teams met, the Titan picked up their first win of the season in overtime with Logan Chisholm getting the winner.

In this one, the Islanders wasted no time getting out in front. Seven minutes in Liam Peyton jumped on a rebound in close and beat Mark Grametbauer to make it 1-0. Three minutes later William Sirman doubled the Islanders lead with his first career goal after joining the team earlier in the week. It would remain 2-0 after one period of play.

Despite outshooting the Titan 19-3 in the frame Charlottetown was unable to score in the second period but they would maintain their 2-0 lead through 40 minutes of play. At 12:34 of the third period Evan MacKinnon tipped a Noah Dobson shot past Matt Welsh to get Bathurst on the board. Liam Murphy also picked up an assist on the powerplay tally. However, an empty net goal from Derek Gentile at 17:08 would seal the deal for the Islanders as they took this one 4-1.
