Holwell scores a pair as Titan hand Remparts their first loss

BATHURST – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan finished off a two-game weekend schedule with the Quebec Remparts in town on Sunday afternoon. Quebec came into the game without a loss on their record but the Titan made sure they didn’t leave the K.-C.-Irving Regional Centre without suffering their first defeat of the season.

No goals were scored in the first period and most of the second period, however the Titan struck twice late in the middle period to take a 2-0 lead. Antoine Morand, in his first game back after serving a two-game suspension, fired a wrist shot high on Oliver Troop to open the scoring at 18:10.

Adam Holwell doubled the lead 42 seconds later with a powerplay goal. The overage defenceman shot from the point and the puck got by Troop to make it 2-0. Noah Dobson and Morand picked up assists. With under four minutes to go in the game, Holwell scored again to seal the deal. Samuel L’Italien and Cole Rafuse had the helpers on the game final goal.

The Titan shutout the Remparts to give them their first loss of the year as Reilly Pickard was rock solid making 22 saves. Oliver Troop made 22 saves for the losing side.

1st Star – Antoine Morand
2nd Star – Noah Dobson
3rd Star – Adam Holwell
