Fortin to undergo shoulder surgery, miss remainder of the season

The Acadie-Bathurst Titan regret to announce that defenceman Louis-Philip Fortin will undergo shoulder surgery in December and will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season.

Fortin played in 14 games for the Titan this season before being sidelined with the injury. He last played October 25 against the Saint John Sea Dogs. The 19-year-old was originally a fifth round selection of the Quebec Remparts at the 2014 QMJHL Draft. He was acquired by the Titan back on June 2 in a deal with the Moncton Wildcats that also brought Dominik Tmej and Domenic Malatesta to the organization.

The team would also like to announce the release of goaltender Dominik Tmej following his decision to quit the team. We would like to wish Dominik the best of luck going forward as he joins the Summerside Western Capitals of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League.

We’re back in action tonight as we visit the Shawinigan Cataractes. Puck drop is set for 5pm from the Centre Gervais Auto.
