Former players help Sagueneens defeat Titan

BATHURST – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan were back at home Friday night after a two-game Nova Scotia road trip as they hosted the Chicoutimi Sagueneens. Two familiar faces were on the visiting side with former Titan players Liam Murphy and Justin Ducharme suiting up for the Sagueneens.

It took exactly 53 seconds for the game-winning goal to be scored in this one. Rookie forward Hendrix Lapierre gave the Sagueneens a 1-0 lead early in the first period with help from Zachary Lavigne. It remained 1-0 through 20 minutes of play. In the second period the visitors extended their lead with goals from William Dufour at 7:09 and Felix-Antoine Marcotty 17:03 to make it 3-0 after two periods. Dufour’s tally came on the powerplay.

Justin Ducharme scored in the third period in his return to Bathurst capping off a 4-0 victory for the Sagueneens and earning first star honours. Despite being on the losing side Mark Grametbauer made 35 saves for the Titan.
