BLAINVILLE, Que. – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan rounded out a three-in-three stretch Saturday night as they took on the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada at the Centre d’excellence sports rousseau. After Bathurst took the lead in the second period, the Titan and Armada would swap leads multiple times before a come back in the third gave the home team a 4-3 victory.
Jordan Maher picked up right where he left off from last night’s game opening the scoring in this one. After potting two powerplay goals last night, Maher found the back of the net on a man advantage in this one at 1:24 of the second period to give the Titan a 1-0 lead. German Rubtsov and Antoine Morand got the assists. Late in the frame Alexandre Alain scored to tie it up 1-1 after 40 minutes.
Three minutes into the final period Jeffrey Viel found the back of the net for the visitors to regain the lead, 2-1 for the Titan. Morand and Noah Dobson notched the helpers. Just after the 11 minute mark, the Armada would get two quick goals to grab a 3-2 lead thanks to Alain and Pascal Corbeil. The two tallies came just 22 seconds apart.
With only 1:16 to play Alain beat Reilly Pickard to add an insurance marker for the Armada, 4-2. It’s a good thing they had the two-goal lead because the Titan would score a late goal with 22 seconds on the clock. The Titan captain managed to poke the puck past Francis Leclerc on a flurry in front to cut their deficit to one. Samuel L’Italien had the lone assist but it wasn’t enough as the Armada hung on to take it 4-3.
1st Star – Alexandre Alain
2nd Star – Pascal Corbeil
3rd Star – Noah Dobson
The Titan have a few days over before they head to Shawinigan to take on the Cataractes next Saturday, November 18 at 5pm.
