Tonight, the Titan was hosting the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
The host team started the game on the wrong foot by allowing two quick goals in the first 6 minutes of the first period. Patrik Zdrahal (1st goal in the QMJHL) brought the Titan to within 1 goal, on a power play goal. Before the first period was over the Huskied had brought it back to a 2-goal lead by scoring their 3 goal of the period.
In the second period, Acadie-Bathurst played much better, Etienne Salvail scored a quick goal (1st of season) and got the Titan back in the game. Later in the period, the visitors once again regained their 2-goal lead before seeing Brandon Hynes (4th) give hope to the home crowd, another power play goal. The score was 4-3 Huskies after 40 minutes of play.
The visitors took a 2-goal lead for the fourth time in the game in the first half of the third period and this would be enough. Brandon Hynes (5th) had a last second goal but it was too little too late and the Titan lost 5-4.
Jacob Brennan blocked 29 of the 34 shots he faced. Brandon Hynes 2 goals and 4 hits, Zach O’Brien 2 assists and Sean Girard had 4 hits.
The 3 games of the Titan will be on the road, in PEI on Friday October 12th, in Cape Breton on Sunday October 14th and in Moncton on Wednesday October 17th.
